I absolutely love my new job as a classical Pilates teacher. It gives me such satisfaction to make someone feel better in mind, body, and soul. As much as I enjoy teaching group classes and giving the clients a full-flow workout, I also like the diversity of one-on-one sessions, dealing with different injuries, and learning new things about the body every day.
WOW… what a year I have had. Starting my teaching year off at a new studio and building my clients up from scratch was so exciting and through advertising on social media, and word of mouth I managed to grow my name…..Then Lockdown happened 🙁 . Causing my family to move countries back to my home in the UK. Now I have new challenges of different Pilates studios with lots of different styles of training. I am still searching for the right place for me. However, I have learned that from what I have studied at The Pilates Centre and with Jeanique Pilates, I truly believe in this method. I will continue to stay true to this as I move forward. You can heal your spine.

I am not going to lie, but at first, I really freaked out about the whole virtual world and teaching on Zoom. I wasn’t sure it was for me. But once I started it, it definitely worked well. I have been doing one-on-one and group classes through Zoom. Like every Pilates teacher in the world, it has challenged me to be very creative with my words and to verbally express what I am looking for through my computer screen.
What’s your advice for anyone who wants to start the Pilates Center Teacher Training but has doubts and fears about how they’ll make it all work?
For anyone about to embark on the TPC teacher training course, my advice is “Do it !!!!!” It was the most challenging yet rewarding training I have ever done. Here are a few pointers from me that hopefully will help.
Host Advisor.
Make sure you have the right Host advisor. The Host Advisor is there to help and keep answering your questions, not to put you down but to help, pick you up, and push you to the best of your ability.
Planning
Get your diary and weekly planners ready. Being on top of your weeks and scheduling is all that is needed, as well as being a little ahead of yourself if you can at some points.
Practice.
Your body will experience an amazing journey of strength and change. Believe me, it will break, but once you hit that home run at the end and complete level 5, what you can and will achieve is insane. Keep your personal workouts going.
Learning
Discover how you learn !!! I really panicked about the Anatomy side of the course. I really am not good at reading a book and taking it all in. So I had to search and play around with how the best way for me to learn, and I found flashcards were best for me.
Support system
Your support group needs to be right there with you, friends and family, to cheer you along the way.
