5 tips for making Up-stretch Pilates easy to digest

Reformer Pilates

Up-stretch Pilates exercise is part of the Long stretch series in the classical repertoire on the reformer Pilates equipment.

By now, if you love Pilates, you should know that it’s a full-body exercise regime. Yes, you should. So, every time you’re practicing or teaching, you want to do this – engage all the abdominal muscles to create a full-body exercise.

Because when you make an effort to begin every single movement from your abdominal, you create a force concentrated around your core. This force is then transferred to move other muscles along the way.

This is how every exercise works in Pilates.

In today’s video, I will share my 5 tips for making Up-stretch Pilates exercise easy to digest. Here’s what you’re going to learn.

1. The two exercises that you should get right before attempting Up-stretch.

2. Why your spring resistance matters

3. Where to move from

4. Which skill to use so that you can gain all the benefits from the exercise.

5. Two extra accessories exercises to help boost your strength.
