Did you apply last week’s two cues in your Pilates routine? Did you realize these muscles go berserk if you don’t concentrate when you practice? Yes? Yay!
Unfortunately, this is how muscles behave sometimes –it’s like they have a mind of their own. But when we pay attention and do not let them take over our practice, they let go, they get conditioned, and we build the proper strength. So, continuing with our shoulder awareness, over-depressing the shoulders as you start to get stronger can be a sneaky thing that snoops unnoticed, which is why I am bringing the topic up today.
..just like me, you will feel rewarded and uplifted when your body is doing exercises you never thought it could do. @jeaniquepilates
Adding the first part in today’s video in any practice will bring awareness around your shoulder blades and stop you from over-depressing the shoulders. . Since it takes a while to refine a movement, in teacher training, we have a personal workout segment where you work on your improvements through self-lead exercises, consciously and intentionally.
I know you are a committed student. You’ve got this.
Let’s get it on!
