Classical Pilates Nerd

Thank you for being part of the Classical Pilates Nerd

If you know me or have taken a class with me, you probably know that I am a Classical Pilates Nerd. I can talk about this topic forever. The other day I was giving a lesson to a student who was days away from graduating, and both of us nerds laughed because I gave her a cue that only the two of us could probably relate to. That cue was specific to her because this is where her body is, and I knew she would understand how to apply it.

I am always fascinated to see trainees’ achievements closed to the end because it reminds me of what Joe meant about uniform body and mind. By the end of the hardworking journey, you see the transformation manifest in yourself. That’s why classical Pilates is never boring. It takes you on a journey to find what true strength means. Have you begun to feel the effect yet? Let me know because my nerd mind feeds on them. Even the tiniest progress counts.

Before I get to today’s video,  please take a moment to thank yourself, and here’s why.

Distraction is the killer of self-awareness, and self-awareness wakes new muscles of connection.

To embody all the benefits of Pilates, you have to be:

1/ Consistent – This is one of the most challenging skills. If you managed to stay consistent, bravo!

2/ Concentrated is another one we talked about in The Pilates skills. Distraction is the killer of self-awareness, and self-awareness wakes new muscles of connection. And if you made an effort to bring your focus back when all you felt like doing was checking your Iwatch, planning a pending meeting, or analyzing the hair on your legs, pat yourself on the back. You resisted the temptation to veer off task -keep going. You got this.

3/ Self-managed – oh boy, I know! We’ve all been there with this line “I don’t have the time.” I won’t lie; it is a tough one; I hear you. I’m human too, and I lack motivation from time to time. But I will tell you this: when you manage to get down on your mat, even if for 5 mins after a long trip or a long week at the desk, to breathe and get some stretch, your body and mind will always support you. You will bounce back from injuries faster. You will feel strong even if you are not feeling 100%. You will have this magical energy that you never knew you had in your storage. And the list of reasons to celebrate goes on.

Ok, now on to today’s video. Let’s boost your muscle connection and spice up your mat with the Magic circle.

What I cover in today’s video, is for the Classical Pilates Nerd and teachers.

. Rolling like a ball two version,

. Single leg stretch two versions,

. Swan to connect your arm in you shoulder blades ( this might help you for chair classes),

. Teaser use the twist version to get more exhalations,

. Lunges and twist for strong legs, hips and obliques muscles,

. Push up with magic if you’re still working on your upper body strength.

Enjoy!

Have a week
