Thanks to Jeanique, I became a great Yoga fan. Then, a difficult pregnancy stopped me from practising. Jeanique advised me to try and continue exercising with Tower Pilates since spring support would be helpful in my situation. Then, when I became a working mom, the 60-minute intense workout combined with the opening and breathing technique of Pilates became the ideal solution for me.
Have you seen any difference since you started?
Absolutely: I started as a 90 + kg worth person without any muscles (bed rest during pregnancy and a broken arm put me in a difficult position), and now I can enjoy level 4 training, doing 99% of the exercises and saving some time for stretching.
Prior to Jeanique Pilates, did you do Pilates?
I had never tried Pilates or Yoga before meeting Jeanique, and she made a difference for me.
I‘ve practised many sports in life, and by the time I met Jeanique, I had collected an interesting array of injuries, and this was not a problem at all with her. Even in a Yoga class of 10 people, she managed to see what I had to correct and always gave me variations that helped me progress. She always respected my body and my limits.
After one lesson, she helped me understand that my chronic knee issues are due to historically weak and rigid ankles, something that an endless number of trainers and orthopedists never told me in 10 years.
Not only that, but after I went back to work, I could no longer attend her classes after work like I used to, and I really wanted to continue following her classes. And she made it happen: Now I can work out twice a week at 7 a.m. because this is the person Jeanique is: She believes in you and does whatever she can to support you and your efforts.

To me, classical Pilates seems very focused on the body, from teaching you how to breathe to learning where each muscle is and what it can do for you—this is crucial: everything in your life improves with Pilates, from being able to walk properly on high heels to being able to walk 15 floors of stairs without any issue.
What were your goals when you started to take Pilates? Did you achieve them?
Once again, Jeanique helped me formulate my goals: becoming strong again and returning to a body that supports me and allows me to live the life I want. And yes, I did achieve this 🙂 very happily.
Did you know that the studio follows the traditional classical Pilates method?
Yes, but at first, I didn’t know that there were different schools in the Pilates world. Jeanique made sure that we all knew the kind of Pilates we practised, and I am grateful for it because it allowed me to understand what we were doing and not just follow instructions.
What can you say to people who want to practice Pilates?
DO IT! NOW! Your life will improve dramatically in ways you would have never anticipated or imagined. Pilates will support you in everyday life and in whatever sport you choose to practice, and it’s a discipline that can be enjoyed at any age.
