Feel good Pilates series for your self care day 

We detox through food, a liquid diet, intermittent fasting, and many other methods to release toxin residue from food and alcohol to feel strong, energetic, and alert. But did you know that you can help your body detox with Pilates? Yes, we can; but before I explain how it works, make sure you understand the exhalation we covered last week. You will need it.

Our moods are affected by it, “weather” we like it or not. Before you start telling yourself, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I am tired,” remember it could be largely due to the heat. Our bodies are adjusting.

Life gets in the way. I know, I know, as much as this clichéd phrase gets on your nervous system, busy life does get in the way of our peaceful calmness. By being too busy, we can feel high for an extended period which eventually depletes our energy. You see, this is not just being energetic from being busy; it’s the high nervous energy that triggers your fight or flight muscles, leaving you feeling drained. That is not the best way to relax and calm oneself.

You know those days when you lie down on your mat to break a sweat with your Pilates routine, but then 10 minutes later, you’re still laying there, just sinking into the floor, breathing easy and feeling super content. Fine, permission granted to morph into a relaxed blob so you can now focus your full attention on breathing and relaxing your jelly formation. And if this feels great, keep relaxing, or if you’re ready to move again, you can continue with gentle Pilates to resurrect your corpse from blissful oblivion.
