So I tried Red Bull when I was a dancer; it was for the African night theme; I usually perform a short, high burst solo African dance on African night. I love Solo African dance; It’s the most energy-consuming dance ever; it’s both a release and a cardio stamina exercise. But if on that day you don’t feel up for it, or lack focus because something triggered your brain to worry about, or you lack strength from sleep deprivation, you suffer. So I thought that I would boost my energy with a Red Bull (because Red Bull gives you wings). Well, let me tell you, it didn’t give me wings. Instead, it gave me some hyperactivity and kept me awake all night because my body wouldn’t calm down.

Since then, I don’t drink Red Bull or any sports drinks because they don’t work for me. They give me heart palpitations, just like too many coffees would.

Sometimes we run out of physical and mental stamina to handle the day. We turn towards these substances to give us a boost to keep going. But energy drinks and caffeine are not the only way to boost your energy or increase stamina. Low impact movement can give you exactly that; it’s gentle on the heart, joints, and organs. And if you’re waiting for me to say it, yes, Pilates is a low impact that improves stamina and endurance through focused repetitions.

Stamina handles everyday life, to-do list, work, family, and life balance, thus letting us keep going without feeling drained and depleted. . .  @jeaniquepilates

And thank goodness for breathing, which is an integral part of Pilates movement, because not only does it help us shed tension and relax our minds, but it also aids in building stamina and endurance. Stamina handles everyday life, to-do list, work, family, and life balance, thus letting us keep going without feeling drained and depleted.

If you’re looking to build stamina and endurance, today’s video will guide you in this endeavor.

Of course, there are other ways to create stamina and endurance, such as:

  • Brisk walk
  • Cycling
  • Hiking
  • Swimming

And here are other things you can do as well.

  • Avoid too many high caffeinated drinks.
  • Sleep minimum 7 hours
  • Drink lots of water
  • Eat nutritious food

It’s all about finding balance and learning what works for you and what doesn’t. Once you figure that out, you will be able to make the right decision for your SELFcare.

Once you get a chance, try the full-body Mat sequence for stamina and endurance. Feel free to leave a comment under the video when you’re done.

See you soon,

Xo
