Unplug, 22 minutes of rejuvenating exercise

Hello from Mauritius 🏝 I hope you had a wonderful month of July.

As for me, I am in a different rhythm. First, I’ve noticed how the impact of global warming has made Mauritius a little colder than I remember. Nonetheless, I’ve indulged my lungs with fresh air and nature that will hopefully last me for a year, precisely what I needed. After having covid, and a few setbacks, I am finally feeling reenergized.

So, how about some rejuvenating sessions for the next four weeks to prepare your body and mind to tackle the few months to finish the year stronger?

Here’s why I opted for the rejuvenating session. I can’t tell you how much easier it is on your muscles and body when you regularly move your spine, muscles, and joints all year long. I see the benefits now!

You’re still moving when you move in a rejuvenating way, but you prioritize release, which opens up your muscles for better firing  (toning)

Because I have been busy taking care of things while here – I’m sure you know how it is when you go home – I have been on the go constantly and all the time; it’s a new rhythm, and you must adapt to it. Believe it or not, we do a lot of driving here on this small island, and my hips don’t like it. So any chance I get, I would stretch and do a little mini Pilates session, which I have included for you as well. You’re still moving when you move in a rejuvenating way, but you prioritize release, which opens up your muscles for better firing (toning).

Changing your exercise rhythm is normal when you are off your routine. I feel that moving at a slower pace is what my body craves most while keeping my muscles active for the new season.

Care to share where you’re on your journey? I love listening to that. You can email me or leave a comment under my video or on my site; I welcome all of them.

Another reason to be proud of your regular workout is that it allows you to explore exotic destinations without getting tired.

I discovered a new waterfall this year name Leon; super cool. Even my niece loved it (she didn’t moan even once). I am so proud of her effort. I am sharing this because you know when you walk or trek for more than 2hrs nonstop, your back hurts or your feet, especially if all you do is walk on flat surfaces like we do in Dubai. Even though my body is not used to the hills, rocks, etc., I had minimum soreness the next day – just a little upper back and shoulder soreness from carrying our backpacks and looking at the floor where we were stepping. We continually ascended and descended a rugged slippery terrain filled with mud, but my feet and legs were fine because of my regular exercise. Man, I had forgotten how muddy it gets in Mauritius when it rains nonstop. But it was so joyful. The last time I walked like that completely wet was when I went to school without a raincoat because it wasn’t cool to wear a raincoat.

I have included some standing stretching for the foot, calves, and hamstring, which is great for your lower back.

I hope that you like today’s video.

See you very soon in class 🙂
